(besides candles) when we first bought the farm.
It works really well & for quite a long time.

We had another great sunset last night.

It's another beautiful morning. Two degrees but there isn't much wind. Finishing up setting posts in the new living area & doing a good cleaning in our "cabin" room.

When we leave today, we'll stop at the food co-op & stock up on bulk items like flour & rice, get a few snacks for the drive and head out. Stopping at an antique/junk store in a town on the way home is in our plans. Going to look for a straight edge razor for Steve. Chris W. from A One Acre Homestead in Ohio blog suggested this as away to save money & have less to recycle. It's been a good weekend here but too short as always.

Things there are looking great! I can't imagine how hard it is to leave there during the week....
As far as the razor, I use a safety fazor, not a straight razor. Farmergeek (link to his blog off of mine) uses one though. I have to admit that they still scare me a bit, lol. The safety razor takes the replacable thin blades, which last me quite a bit. It took a few days to get used to, but after that, it's shaved just great. If he wants a straight razor, everyone I have ever talked to says to practice shaving cream off a balloon before trying it on yourself....if you can do it without popping a balloon, you can shave. Good luck!!!
Thanks Chris! I got the name of it wrong. I was meant the safety razor. Yea, the straight razor is scary.
I'm going to look for wind up alarm clocks there too.
