Old Sewing Notions

I love old stuff! Here is some of the items I have received from my mom & grandma, Steve's mom & my ex-mother in law. I love how they tied up the buttons with thread.
Here is my button stash. It's fun going through
them & seeing some from the clothes I wore as a child.

I can remember playing in my great grandmothers button jar as a kid. I guess thats why i have my own jar now!! Love to find old things like old embroidery patterns for dish towels!

It is fun going through the button box. I have some old embroidery patterns that I got last year from Steve's mom. Haven't made them yet, but it's on my list :-)

Wow, that reminds me of visiting my Grandma who could sew anything. She had button tins, buttons on threads and sew to cards and many drawers full of threads in every colour.

Great memories, thanks hun! :)

Isn't that fun; finding old buttons of a garmets that you wore as a child. I have a stash also.I am starting to use some of it. Nothing like going through old tins that buttons were kept in, & opening it up finding all kinds of treaures.

I love old finds like this. I recently got an old 50's electric hand mixer still in the original box and I was afraid to use it! But it works like a champ.
