Busy Day

Well, I got a few things on my list done. One of them was to take a walk. Here are some pictures of where I walked. This is an area next to the subdivision we live in in Illinois. It is a path that winds through the woods. A creek runs by it & three retention ponds are on the other side. It's really a beautiful area. Just hearing the creek gurgling & the birds singing is enough to make my day.
Not many people were outside today. It is so nice out. Where is everyone? We usually don't see too many kids outside playing. I think they must be inside playing video games or watching TV. It's sad. They need that connection with nature. How else will they learn how to take care of the earth & respect it?
Steve called a little while ago & has landed at the airport. Glad to have him home. Now if I can keep him away from the shop tomorrow :-)

What a beautiful area! I agree with you- children need to get outside. I'm so excited about our acreage. The children had a fabulous time playing in the creek, poking the ice with sticks and clearing the channels of leaves. I hope everything works out.
Have a great day tomorrow.

Beautiful pictures near your home! I am glad to hear you are doing well!

I have confidence that these kids will soon realize their infactuation with "toys" is just a stepping stone to all the beautiful things that life has to offer. These are the times we live in and there is little we can do except be examples to our children and guide them

Enjoy our midwestern weahther while you can!

YES... parents need to boot their children outdoors to play. What's the matter with them anyway? No wonder so many kids are overweight these days.... come on parents!! Participate!!

Just the rantings of an old woman

I totally agree with you about the need for children to be outdoors. It's so sad this day and age, to drive around and not see children playing outside. You should read, Last Child in the Woods, by: Richard Louv. He talks all about nature-deficit children and the disorders and obsesity that is coming with inside playing and video games.
Beautiful pictures! Looks like a nice walk.

Jane..I am enjoying the weather, today is so beautiful!
Sue..spring will be here soon for you too!
Di...I think some parents are scared to have their kids out of their site. Really sad.
Slaterlife...I read that book & passed it on to others to read. All parents should read it.
