4.3 Earthquake in Northern Illinois

I just went to CNN's website & they have it on their breaking news. What a way to wake up this morning! A snowstorm & an earthquake. Steve & I (and daughter Kristin down by Peoria) have woken up a few times in the past month & thought the bed was shaking. Maybe they were pre-shocks.
Did anyone else feel the quake this morning?

Besides the almost 45 inches of snow we have received in the last 5 days [unheard of for us] we got something called Thundersnow. Where it thunders when it snows? Lived here in VA practically my whole life and have never heard of it!

The weather is so weird anymore. What are earthquakes doing in Illinois? Weird.

We almost never feels opur earthquakes we have here. But I think the biggest we´ve had here is just 4,3. I remember being out in the forest and it sounded as loads of lorries were comming through the forest, then the shaking started. I thought of it as fun then but I can imagine for someone living in earthquake areas that it´s terrible.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

I heard on the 12 0'clock news that you had an earth quake, but no damage reported. I have only felt one earthquake, when I was in 11th grade here in West Virginia. I can't remember how it rated, but it sure shook me on the bed!...debbie

Sometimes I wish I wasn't such a sound sleeper. Well, that just goes to show you I really can sleep right through an earthquake.
